Dr. Jones Interview by Emily S.

Our principal here at Oak Middle School is a woman with a fulfilled career and childhood. Dr. Ann Jones is a 100% French Canadian human being who grew up in Worcester. Her father was a doctor and her mother was a stay at home mom. Dr. Jones has 6 siblings and she is the second to youngest. In her childhood, she enjoyed volleyball and swimming. She used to want to be a police officer. That all turned around when she was in high school and made cookies all day at a local bakery. Dr. Jones had many other jobs too. She worked at an insurance company and was a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teacher. If Mrs. Jones could go anywhere in the world, she would choose Egypt because as a sixth grade teacher she taught about the pyramids and other features and has always wanted to go. She went to St. Anselm and Worcester State College to train to be a teacher. After that job, the resident of Shrewsbury, Dr. Jones, became an assistant principal at Sherwood and after a few years she became principal here at Oak. This is her 3rd year of being principal and she loves watching the kids grow and learn each day. Dr. Jones now had her doctorate too! It took her 3 years and 9 months to become a doctor. She went to Northeastern to accomplish that. In her free time, she likes to run and do crafts with her hands like knotting and beading. She also LOVES spending time with her dog Rosie. Our principal here at Oak Middle School is a woman with a fulfilled career and childhood.
